Total Beginner
Just starting out. Learning the rules, scoring, how to serve and keep the ball in play. Most shots are inconsistent and rallies are brief as fundamentals are developed.

Beginner
Basic movement and shot contact are improving. Players can sustain short rallies and understand scoring, but consistency and strategy are still emerging.
2.0
Early Improver
Can hit the ball in play more consistently and participate in longer rallies. Still developing control, depth, and placement, with minimal strategy.
2.5
Developing Player
More consistent with serves, returns, and groundstrokes. Beginning to use strategy, court positioning, and shot selection with moderate success.
2.75
Solid Improver
Reliable contact on most shots with growing ability to control direction and pace. Starting to integrate net play and partner communication in doubles.
3.0
Emerging Intermediate
Comfortable sustaining rallies, using basic strategy, and executing a variety of shots. Can plan points with purpose, though execution may still vary under pressure.

Improving Intermediate
Consistent with dinks, volleys, and shot selection. Good court awareness and positioning. Strategy is deliberate, and players begin to force errors from opponents.

Solid Intermediate
Strong ball control, improved consistency, and tactical play. Can handle faster pace and maintain pressure with effective shot placement and movement.

High Intermediate
Very consistent control and a broad range of shots. Shows strong strategy, anticipation, and better execution under pressure. Ready for competitive formats.

Advanced Player
Highly skilled and reliable in most match situations. Excellent shot variety, depth, placement, and strategic understanding. Comfortable in competitive play and higher-level events.
